Students are provided detailed course information as well as several tools to help them establish graduation plans. Following successful registration by the published deadline, every student will be contacted to discuss their graduation plan and course selections.
Students are encouraged to select their courses in advance of meeting with the Counselor for course registration. The Counselor is authorized to grant approval for courses requiring administrative approval as a prerequisite for enrollment.
Beacon Academy of Nevada is a publicly-funded, tuition-free, online high school. Courses and related materials are provided for full-time students who are residents of Nevada State at no charge, with the exception of technical course fees, Community College enrollment and materials, or as noted in the course catalog.
Course availability is dependent upon enrollment and may be limited. Students are encouraged to register early to secure their place in the course.
Students may add or drop courses through Day 10 of the term. After that date, students may petition school Executive Director of Academics to add a course. With approval of their Counselor, students may take up to four (4) courses through Beacon Academy of Nevada each academic term. However, students cannot drop below three (3) courses during the semester for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders and two (2) courses for eligible 12th graders.
